Let's support govt schools to provide quality education - Young Executive CEO (Dr. Francis Essel-Okyeahene) Source: Daily Graphic Edition Written by: Emmanuel Bonney
The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Young Executive School and Onua Francis International schools Francis Essel Okyeahene, has called on public-spirited individuals and organisations to endeavour to support the government in the delivery of quality education to children in the country.
He said for instance, philanthropists and other well-to-do –individuals could support public schools by providing them with teaching-learning materials to assist in the development of children in those institutions so that they come out as responsible citizens.
If the children in those institutions do not get proper training, some of them world come out and become social deviants and criminals who would create problems for those that were well – trained and had better education, Mr. Okyeahene said this when he presented a public address (PA) system to the Gomoa Senior High Technical school at Gomoa Dawurampong in the Central Region.
The item was presented after the school’s 70th board meeting. Those present included the Gomoa West Director of Education, Cecilia Aboagye.
The donor, Mr. OKyeahene, who serves as the board chairman of the school, said supporting schools to provide quality education to children was very important since” these are the future leaders of the country and must be well educated for its development”.
Once that was done, he said, it would bring about a level playing field for all children, as no one would be disadvantaged, irrespective of where they came from.
He said the donation of PAS was made to Gomoa Senior High Technical school after he realized, during a visit, that anytime there was time to change lesson, a bell had to be rung, which, at the second cycle level and the current state of modernity, he thought there was the need for a better and modern way of doing that.
“Sometimes, when the authorities went to communicate information to the children, they have to ring the bell to get all of them to gather before that was done and I think in this day and age, the school needed to have a better way of doing that,” The school management, board members and the director of education, were very appreciative of the support. As a new board chairman, the other members and I will work very hard to ensure that the Gomoa Senior High Technical School produces people who will help in the transformation of the country.
We all have a role to help these little ones and I don’t think we should leave it to the government alone,”
